KYRGYZSTAN SPECIAL MISSION
A New Chapter in
Reconstructive Surgery
in Kyrgyzstan
Led by Prof. Hyunsuk Suh and Prof. Hyunho Han
this mission represents a meaningful milestone
in expanding reconstructive surgery through
SHIYA’s advanced surgical visualization.
With SHIYA, advanced reconstructive surgery
became possible where it was once difficult to access.
THE CHALLENGES
Where Reconstructive
Surgery Was Out of Reach
In Kyrgyzstan, access to advanced reconstructive surgery
has long been limited by infrastructure, specialized equipment,
and training opportunities.
For patients living with complex reconstructive needs,
this can mean more than a medical limitation.
It can affect movement, confidence, daily life,
and hope for recovery.
Key Challenges
We Faced
These barriers make advanced
reconstructive surgery difficult—
and highlight why this mission
is so important.
01
Limited Surgical Infrastructure
Many hospitals lack the operating environments, facilities, and support systems needed for complex reconstructive procedures.
02
Lack of Specialized Visualization
Microsurgery relies on clear magnification, depth perception, and stable visualization—resources that are not easily available.
03
Need for Clinical Training
Sustainable impact requires knowledge sharing, hands-on training, and ongoing collaboration with local medical teams.
Our mission is to bridge these gaps and create lasting change for patients and communities in Kyrgyzstan.
THE PATIENT STORY
Behind Every Surgery,
There Is a Life Waiting to Change
For the patient, reconstructive surgery was not simply a medical procedure.
It was a chance to restore function, confidence, and everyday life.
This was not only about repairing tissue.
It was about restoring possibility.
THE FIRST STEP
A Historic Milestone for
Reconstructive Surgery in Kyrgyzstan
Through the leadership of Prof. Hyunsuk Suh, Prof. Hyunho Han Korean medical professionals and local doctors worked together to bring advanced surgical visualization into the operating field.
SHIYA supported the team by providing enhanced visual access, powerful magnification, and a shared surgical view for real-time collaboration.
THE ROLE OF SHIYA
How SHIYA Made Precision Possible
Three Core Strengths That Redefine Surgical Visibility
Enhanced visual access
Provides improved visualization in deep or restricted surgical fields, supporting clearer access to surrounding anatomy and surgical margins.
Powerful Magnification
for Confined Surgical Fields
Provides enhanced visualization in Restricted field of view allowing easier access to surrounding anatomy and margins.
Shared Surgical View
for Team Coordination
Enables assistants and clinical staff to see the operative field clearly, enhancing teamwork, communication, and overall situational awareness.
CLINICAL RELEVANCE IN THE MISSION
AXILLA
Supporting visibility in deep axillary spaces
CHEST
Helping access deep thoracic structures with clarity
NOSE
Assisting visualization in narrow nasal cavities
PALATE / CLEFT PALATE
Supporting procedures that require clear visibility in deep oral spaces
MICROSURGERY AND MORE
Expanding visualization possibilities across delicate reconstructive procedures
CLINICAL RELEVANCE IN THE MISSION
SUPERIOR MAGNIFICATION
Microscopic vascular dissection
COLLABORATIVE VISION
Surgical team with a high-definition
PALATE & DEEP CAVITY
Enhanced cleft repair view
SURGICAL TEAM & COLLABORATION
A Shared Mission Between
Korean Experts and Local Doctors
Led by Prof. Hyunsuk Suh and Prof. Hyunho Han the Kyrgyzstan mission brought together Korean medical professionals, local doctors, and SHIYA’s advanced surgical visualization technology.
The mission included reconstructive surgery, on-site coaching, SHIYA training, and real-time surgical observation, creating a shared learning environment for the local medical team.

PATIENT INTERVIEWS
What If SHIYA Had Not Been There?
The true value of this mission is not measured
only by surgical technology.
It is reflected in the patient’s possibility of recovery,
improved quality of life, and renewed hope for
everyday living.
“
- Before surgery, what was the biggest difficulty in your daily life?
- How did this condition affect your confidence or quality of life?
- What does this surgery mean to you and your family?
- What do you hope will change after recovery?
